DETAILED ITINERARY:

Day 1 - Luang Prabang City Tour & Kuang-Si Waterfall

You will be met at the lobby of your chosen hotel and transfer by private vehicle to driving straight to Wat Xieng Thong temple which is one of the most beautiful in Laos.  

Upon leaving Wat Xieng Thong we will take a walk through the streets of Luang Prabang observing the historical architecture of French colonial buildings and local life before paying a visit to the National Museum, the Former Royal palace which was built 1904-1909 by the French Architect and was a gift from the French to our last king of Laos.

Upon reaching the main street we will climb up to the top of Mt. Phousi for a 360 degree view of the city.

Lunch will be enjoyed in the town (not included) before driving south of Luang Prabang to the stunning Kuang Si Waterfall.

Take a leisurely hike through the national park towards Kuang- Si Waterfall and pass by the Asian Bear Rescue Centre.

Enjoy feeling the mist of the cool, turquoise waters of the different waterfalls.

Hike to the top of the main waterfall from where you can enjoy the panoramic views.

Return to the pools at the bottom of the falls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim should you wish.

Transfer back to Luang Prabang by private sir conditioned vehicle.

Luang Prabang

Day 2 - Pak - Ou Cave & Handicraft Village

Departing from your chosen hotel you will be transferred by private vehicle to the boat pier in Luang Prabang where your boat departs. Cruising by Private boat on the Mekong River observe the picturesque limestone formations and local way of life along the river. The first stop is at Ban Xang Hai also known as the 'whiskey village' to see the process of making lao-lao, the country's beloved rice whiskey second only to Beer Lao in popularity. Explore the sanctuaries of Pak Ou and witness the intriguing sight of over 4,000 Buddha images. Enjoy lunch at a floating restaurant before transferring by private boat to visit Ban Xang Khong Village - Handicraft village - where you will have the opportunity to see locals making local handicrafts by weaving, carving and paper making.  This is also an opportunity to purchase these locally made products as souvenirs before heading back to Luang Prabang.

Pak Ou Cave

Day 3 - Full Day Elephant Experience

You will be met at the lobby of your chosen hotel by your private guide and transferred by private air conditioned vehicle to the elephant camp.

  • Upon arrival you will receive a short introduction about these majestic animals (join in).

  • Elephant feeding - Get up close and personal with elephants.

  • Explore the elephant village: Visit the elephant hospital, museum, photo gallery and dung paper making area.

  • Bareback elephant ride: Mount an elephant and enjoy a 1km bareback elephant ride - riding on the neck of the elephant (join in, one person per elephant)

  • Visit baby elephants: meet the baby elephant across the river

  • Boat trip to the Tas Sae Waterfall: Ride in a traditional Lao long boat to Tad Sae Waterfall and relax or swim in the clear water.

  • Lunch: Enjoy  a buffet lunch served with tea/coffee (vegetarian option available)

  • Private transfer back to your hotel

Elephant Village

Day 4 - Early flight to Vientiane - City Tour - Vang Vieng

This morning depart Luang Prabang and take an early morning flight to Vientiane.

Upon arrival in Vientiane you will be met by your private guide for a city tour of Vientiane.  â€‹Take a visit to Wat Sisaket, with its thousands of miniature Buddha statues, as well as Vat Hor Pha Keo - the Emerald Buddha temple was built in 16th century now it is a Buddhist artifacts Museum.  Later, visiting That Luang Stupa, which was built in circa 236 BC to keep the relic of Buddha. This is the main worship site for Buddhist people and now it is a National Lao symbol.  We then take a short drive to Patuxay (the Victory Gate Monument) which was given by the French to Lao Government when we had the first independence in 1946 AD. Resembling the famous Arc De Triomphe in Paris this is now the landmark of Vientiane.

 

Later, depart Vientiane by private air conditioned vehicle and drive to Vang Vieng.  Check in at your chosen hotel.  This evening you may wish to explore the town or enjoy relaxing views of the river Song.

Vientiane

Day 5 - Vang Vieng 

You will be met at the lobby of your chosen hotel and transferred by private air conditioned vehicle to visit Tham Chang Cave which was used as a war shelter when the Chinese invaded in 1887.  Next visit the Blue Lagoon, a beautiful pool with crystal clear water.  The reminder of the day is at your leisure.  You can go inner-tubing on the cool lazy river, try your hand at kayaking or caving or just relax from the balcony of your hotel

VANG VIENG

Day 6 - Vang Vieng - Vientiane

Depart Vang Vieng and drive back to Vientiane.  On the way stopping at Ban Keun, a town famous for its salt extraction plants, visit Vang Xang and enjoy lunch (not included)

Later arrive at Nam Ngum Dam, a hydro electrical dam on the Nam Ngum river, a major tributary of the Mekong in Laos.  It was the first hydro power dam built in Lao.  Upon reaching the lake take a 1 hour cruise by long-tail boat on the massive artificial lake with many small islands.

Continue on to Vientiane where the day ends upon check in at your chosen hotel.  This evening you may wish to visit the local night market at your leisure.

Day 7 - Vientiane - Departure

The morning is at your leisure, giving you the opportunity for any last minute souvenir shopping until your transfer to the airport.
