BAN CHAN POTTERY VILLAGE, KUANG SI WATERFALL & HMONG VILLAGE

A 15 minute cruise downstream on the Mekong takes you to the small village of Ban Chan where the locals specialise in making traditional pottery.  If you insist you can create something yourself with a little help from Loatian hands.  Continue downstream to discover the picturesque Kuang-Si-Waterfalls.  Enjoy a short hike in the national park before arriving at the falls.....

A 15 minute cruise downstream on the Mekong takes you to the small village of Ban Chan where the locals specialise in making traditional pottery.  If you insist you can create something yourself with a little help from Loatian hands.  Continue downstream to discover the picturesque Kuang-Si-Waterfalls.  Enjoy a short hike in the National Park before arriving at the falls.

DETAILED ITINERARY:

  • You will be met at the lobby of your chosen hotel.  From here we will begin your tour by private air conditioned vehicle where you will transfer to the boat pier.

  • Take a leisurely private boat cruise along the Mekong River to the village of Ban Chan on the opposite bank where the local inhabitants of this village specialise in manufacturing pottery and bricks using the raw material from the local area.

  • Continue downstream by private boat to the village of Ban Muang Khai.  From here your private air conditioned vehicle awaits to transfer you to Kuang Si Waterfall.

  • We will take a leisurely hike through the national park towards Kuang- Si Waterfalls and pass by the Asian Bear Rescue Centre.

  • Enjoy feeling the mist of the cool, turquoise waters of the different waterfalls.

  • Hike to the top of the main waterfall from where you can enjoy the panoramic views.

  • Return to the pools at the bottom of the falls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim.

  • Departing the waterfall, making a final stop at a Hmong Hill Tribe Village where you will observe local way of life.

  • Transfer back to your hotel by private vehicle.

NOTE:

  • Kuang Si Waterfalls can get crowded during weekends therefore it is advised to visit during weekdays where possible.  

  • Swimming is possible, although the water temperature between November - January is very cool.

  • It is recommended to wear proper walking attire.
