LAO COOKING CLASS & KUANG SI WATERFALL

This one day cooking lesson will have you making your own Lao dishes in no time.  Start the day visiting the local morning market before learning how to cook some famous dishes in our cooking school located within a short stroll to Kuang-Si-Waterfall........

Spend this day cooking Lao food and learning about the habits and customs at the heart of Lao cuisine.  After you have enjoyed the food you have made take a visit to the nearby Kuang Si Waterfall which is located within walking distance of the cooking school.

DETAILED ITINERARY:

  • Your day starts with a visit to a local food market where the chef explains what the foods are and how they are used in traditional Lao cooking.

  • You will then be transferred to the cooking school, located within a local house, where you prepare and cook various typical Lao dishes including Jeow: lao spicy dipping sauce, Mok Pa: a herb fish dish steamed in banana leaves, laap/Koy: a minced meat salad, fragrant with herbs, to name but a few of the dishes.

  • Once you have prepared your dishes you will then take a seat and enjoy the food which you have made.

  • There will be plenty of photo opportunities throughout the day.

  • You will leave with a recipe book so you can create your own dishes when returning home.

  • We will then take a leisurely hike through the national park towards Kuang- Si Waterfalls and pass by the Asian Bear Rescue Centre.

  • Enjoy feeling the mist of the cool, turquoise waters of the different waterfalls.

  • Hike to the top of the main waterfall from where you can enjoy the panoramic views.

  • Return to the pools at the bottom of the falls where you can enjoy a refreshing swim.

NOTE:

  • Cooking Class may be a join in activity and therefore there will be other tourists within the group. depending on the number of bookings received.

  • Kuang Si Waterfalls can get crowded during weekends therefore it is advised to visit during weekdays where possible.  

  • Swimming is possible, although the water temperature between November - January is very cool.

  • It is recommended to wear proper walking attire.
